Band, 49th Battalion (E.R.)
Thomas Moss enlisted into the 49th Battalion (E.R.) in 1915. His brother soon followed suite. A professional musician, he served with the band overseas until armistice. For decades after the war, Thomas Moss became a rolling stone. Twice married and with four kids, he ultimately ended up in California. In 1936 Moss returned to Belgium with his wife to revisit the places he had been two decades before with the 49th Battalion (E.R.).
