432921 Lance Corporal Edward D. Marshall
Band, 49th Battalion (E.R.)
Edward Davis "Ned" Marshall enlisted into the 49th Battalion (E.R.) in 1915. Serving overseas as part of the regimental band, he was wounded at Cambrai in 1918 but ultimately survived the war. Following his discharge, Marshall immigrated to the United States and settled in California. Despite the far distance, Marshall travelled to Edmonton on multiple occasions to reunite with his old comrades. Marshall passed away in Oregon, United States in 1970.
