"B" Company, 49th Battalion (E.R.)
Thomas John Conway enlisted into the 49th Battalion (E.R.) in 1915. Serving overseas in Flanders, Conway was killed during a heavy bombardment on the Canadian trenches in Sanctuary Wood which preceded a German raid. He is commemorated by a special memorial at Maple Copse Cemetery, Flanders.
