"A" Company, 49th Battalion (E.R.)

Geoffrey Powell Edmond joined the 49th Battalion (E.R.) in England in the autumn of 1915. He had been buried alive in February 1916 and was later peppered by shrapnel from an enemy shell during the Second Battle of Arras in August 1918. Despite these wounds, Edmond survived the and returned to Canada in 1919. He later immigrated to England.
