"A" Company, 49th Battalion (E.R.)
Robert Boyd Swan was a salesman manager and member of the 103rd Regiment "Calgary Rifles" of the Canadian Militia by the outbreak of war. He enlisted in the spring of 1915 and arrived in France with the 49th Battalion (E.R.) in May of 1918. He was killed during the attack on the Marcoing Line on the 28th of September 1918, and is was one of five members of the 49th Battalion (E.R.) who went missing during the operations at Cambrai.
