Alexander Morris enlisted with his brother, William, in 1916. Whilst his brother would serve with the 49th Battalion (E.R.), Alexander joined the 50th (Calgary) Battalion in February 1917. He would ultimately die of wounds received during the Battle of Hill 70 and is buried in Aix-Noulette Communal Cemetery Extension, France
